Permanent Make Up (PMU)

Powder Brows are a form of permanent makeup (cosmetic tattoo), where pigment is implanted under the surface of the skin with a tattoo machine. This creates a more filled in "make up" look. Cosmetic pigments are formulated to gradually fade and appear more "natural" than the latter forms of cosmetic tattooing.

AFTER CARE

FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES FOR THE BEST RESULTS:

DAYS 1-2 BLOT

We have created a wound and all wounds weep or ooze body fluids (blood, oil, lymph). Some will weep more and for a longer period than others. Blotting off these fluids and excess pigment is critical to a good result and optimum color retention. If these fluids are allowed remain on the tattooed area and accumulate you will get heavier scabbing. Heavy scabbing can pull out the pigment which will result in light spots and unevenness of color. Dampen a paper towel with water and blot your new procedure every 15 minutes to 30 minutes upon leaving my studio. Continue blotting throughout day one. Blot for the following two days 4 to 6 times throughout the day depending on the amount of weeping. If you have eyebrow hair, please make sure you are getting beyond the hair and actually blotting the tattooed skin.

DAYS 2-7 WASH

Use a mild cleanser on and around the procedure area. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic ,AHA) or any exfoliants. Dial Soap, Cetaphil, and Neutrogena are good choices. Use a light touch (fingers only, no washcloths) cleansing your procedure once or twice a day. Make sure you rinse off all cleanser leaving no residue then pat dry. Always wait 15 minutes before applying ointment after getting the procedure wet. Never put ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

DAYS 2-7 OINTMENT

ONLY USE THE HEALING BALM I PROVIDE FOR YOU …NOTHING ELSE!!! NO ointment for the first 24 to 48 hours…until all weeping has stopped, you will be cleansing and blotting only during this time. Apply a thin, light coat of ointment 3 or 4 times a day for the remaining of the healing process (5-7 days). Always blot off the prior ointment and area before applying new layer of ointment. Although it is important to use ointment, using it excessively can starve the skin of air and can result in pigment loss during the healing period so please use sparingly, just enough to moisten.

ALLERGIC REACTION IS EXTREMELY RARE BUT POSSIBLE. IF YOU NOTICE ANY BUMPS OR RASH OR THINK YOU MAY BE HAVING A REACTION TO THE OINTMENT…STOP USING OINTMENT IMMEDIATELY, CLEANSE AREA AND CONTACT ME.

Important Reminders

  • Use a fresh pillow case when you sleep. Be conscious of not sleeping on your face.

  • Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. DO NOT rub, scratch or pick! This will lead to scarring and/or loss of color..

  • NO Facials, Botox, Chemical Treatments or Microdermabrasion for 4 weeks. From now on always avoid exfoliants, AHAs, retinols, etc in forehead area, including at home products.

  • Avoid topical makeup in area of brow for 10 days. Topical makeup can be bacterial and your new procedures(s) needs adequate time to heal to avoid irritation and/or infection. You may apply your makeup around the new procedure area but avoid applying ON the healing areas. No tweezing or waxing the eyebrows for 10 full days

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure/Wear a hat outdoors/NO boating/NO camping/no heavy cleaning/no gardening/no Atving/no horsebackriding/No pet grooming or anything that may cause debris to blow into the air.

  • ABSOLUTELY NO swimming until completely healed; salt water/chlorine can cause pigments to change or fade. NO working out, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, hot showers or getting overheated for 10 days!

• DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin or other petroleum based products while healing.

• DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.

• DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or lightening creams (skin bleaching creams) such as hydroquinone to the treated area while healing.

• No anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids

• Do not thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area while healing.

• NO exercising and/or excessive sweating one day prior to getting tattooed and for 10 days after. Heavy sweating will cause the hair strokes to blur and detail to be lost.

• NO Sun exposure, swimming pools, jacuzzis, saunas or other bodies of water for two weeks.

• Do not soak your face underwater in a bathtub or allow the shower to spray directly in your face for two weeks.
